Aydela M. Bright

Educational Foundation

 

 

Established in 2018, the Aydela M. Bright Educational Foundation (AMBEF) is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code,  with Delta Lambda Zeta Chapter being the principal donor. The foundation is created and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The principal activities and purpose of the foundation are to award scholarship/fellowship grants to worthy students for the pursuit of higher education and to conduct community outreach service programs that will aid in the educational and vocational improvement of individuals and community living standards. The operation of the AMBEF strives to honor Delta Lambda Zeta's commitment to the promotion and standards of the pursuit of higher education. Honoring the charter members of Delta Lambda Zeta Chapter, the name of the foundation, Aydela M. Bright, is an acronym containing the first letters of the last names of Delta Lambda Zeta's ten charter members:

The Aydela M. Bright Educational Foundation:

  • Is a 501(c)3 nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic organization comprised of private citizens

  • Shares a vision of enhancing the educational standard in Tift County and its surrounding communities

  • Works to increase support of educational activities in Tift County and its surrounding communities

  • Benefits students in Tift County School System through programming and activities 

  • Awards foundation funds in the form of an annual scholarship to students identified as being members of under-served minority groups in Tift County and its surrounding communities

 

Purpose Statement


The Aydela M. Bright Educational Foundation purpose is to support higher education achievement of students in under-served minority groups through scholarships, and conduct community education programs and related research to improve individual and community living standards in Tift County and the surrounding areas of Georgia. 

Mission Statement


The Aydela M. Bright Educational Foundation believes that every student should have the opportunity to learn and master basic skills in education, regardless of the student’s current academic achievement, socio-economic background, race or gender. The mission of the Aydela M. Bright Educational Foundation is to generate and distribute resources to students in underserved minority groups matriculating in institutions of learning in Tift County and the surrounding areas of Georgia. The foundation will achieve its mission by directing resources toward these goals:

  • Encouraging students in under-served minority groups to work to their highest potential and promote continuing education in institutions of higher learning

  • Work with and assist faculty and staff in Tift County Schools in identifying students in under-served minority groups and their specific needs

  • Inspire parents and community to participate in the enrichment of the educational goals of students in underserved minority groups

  • Building community awareness for the Aydela M. Bright Educational Foundation
